Friday- Day trip to Nancy, France
On Friday we took the TGV train (which goes something like 160 mph at some points) to Nancy (pronounced non-see). Then ewe started our day with a 40 minute walk to a museum dedicated to art nouveau interiors call the Musée de l'Ecole de Nancy.Spend some time there sketching and then we walked to a grand plazza which took about 55 minutes. By that time we were all pretty starving. Went to lunch with Jeff, Katie and Megan and had fantastic quiche and cidre. After lunch we checked out the gardebs of the palace there- which had a zoo. Which had monkeys. Got ice cream before we left and then we took the train back to Paris.
Saturday- We had saturday morning free so I decided I should probably clean my clothes. After we met back up we went to a museum whuch I can not remeber the name of that had a lot of French art and even some things about the anchient history of Paris. Then we went to an exhibition on Paris as a developing city. We then visited the Garnier Opera house, the mostimportant part is the stair, as you'll see in the photos.
Sunday- funday.
Sunday was a free day. Although free is relatice since we were given a list of things to accomplish in Paris. We spent most of the day accomolishing those. First we went to Sainte Sulpice for mass to here the organ play. Then we went to a cemetary to visit the graves of Oscar Wilde, Gertude Stein, And Jim Morrison. After that we headed to a market that had all kind of antiques and odds and ends. It was pretty cool. We then headed to the eiffel tower to attempt to find people playing a game called boule? Or lepluc? Either way that didn't work out. Last part of the day was to the top of the tower at dusk with Mary, David, Megan and Katie. It was worth €13.
Today is our last day in Paris. 15 days sure went fast. Don't have muxh planned for the day. Going to wind down and prepare for the next part of the trip. Probably go to a few places I'd like to see again. Wi-fi will probably be iffy from here on out so I'll post when I can.
Is that a bust of John Cleese?
ReplyDeleteI honestly have no idea what the bust was. But it was hidden behind a doorway, so it was quite frightening
